I’ve always been obsessed with street art. It’s the art of the new, the raw, the in-your-face message that makes it so compelling. Anybody who has seen a work by Banksy would agree with me: Some street art is funny, some pushes buttons, but I believe all deserve to be counted as fine art. L.A., being one of the great metropolises of the world, is no stranger to street art. Driving down pretty much any highway you can see graffiti or sometimes, the occasional mural.
However, one place in L.A. is the kingdom of street art: It’s L.A.’s warehouse district, or the arts district, near 3rd/4th street and Alameda. The art is everywhere, and it’s world class. The area is also home to some sweet indie restaurants and shops, such as Poketo and The Pie Hole. Here are some pictures from my first trip to the arts district, I hope they inspire you to make your own trip there. Let me know if you have any stories!

This is awesome! Thanks. The street art is just one of the many things I love about this city.
Thanks so much!
